This was actually taken last year in the Cheviots...this year there was even more snow in the Eastern Lakes (the hills around Blencathra) and much of it was unconsolidated and about ankle deep!This adds up to a very tiring excursion for Gill and myself, on a day that could be described as changeable - photo's will appear in a couple of days.
We are off back on the family trail today and tomorrow before having a go at Grizedale Pike before New Year in Edinburgh....the snow is thawing fast on the lower ground but will hopefully still be there higher up...
